Avey Tare and Eric Copeland

So a long time ago Avey Tare said he'd never tour songs from his album Down There. What a dirty liar. We caught wind of an Avey Tare and had to go. So away Dave Slow, Charr Nuggs and I went. Cheese was supposed to come but was having his period. So we drove into Brooklyn, besides slow getting us lost and me almost killing him, and we found the place easy enough and got a great spot. But we were an hour early so we walked around the block a few times. We saw 15 hipsters and a poor man, funny enough one of the hipsters was wearing the same outfit as the poor man.
Eventually the doors opened. I sold Cheese's ticket to a guy named Hardy from Colorado. Nice guy. The opener was this guy who looked like a hipster version of Jason Lee, accompanied by a guitarist who had his hoodie zipped up. Jason Lee called himself DJ Dog Dick. He was more of a dick then anything else. He had one great line: "Breakfast in bed? I'll cum in the bisquick."
Finally Eric Copeland came on stage. He's always fun to see. The first time I saw him was when I saw Fuck Buttons back in 2009 I believe. That time the mixing sucked for Eric and the set wasn't quite as good. This time sounded awesome. It was like a psychedelic adventure through pop-metal-hip-hop waves.

After Eric melted our minds Avey rebuilt them. He started with a slew of requests, which he chuckled off. His set was good, a little short and he refused to do an encore. His whole body was really into it. He played an amazing new song Slow Words. Unfortunately I didn't catch it. I did get one new one and three from Down There. The dirty liar...

Laughing Hieroglyphic was really cool cause everyone was singing along. An he sang the best line twice. Party. Bonus

One more thing: To Andres the Giant getting his head into all the Avey frames: Fuck you. You looked stupid dancing. You seemed completely disingenuous. The only song you seemed to know was Laughing Hieroglyphic. And your little Asian girlfriend wasn't into it at all.
